Programme for the dissemination of Improved and Advanced Cookstoves in Guinea
SUMMARY
Ecofoyer Guinée is a clean cooking programme pilot aimed at distributing 72,500 efficient cookstoves by 2030 across Conakry, Beyla, Forécariah and N’Zérékoré. At full-scale the programme targets 80% adoption of clean cooking in the 4 prefectures, plus rollout countrywide.

HOW IT WORKS
The Ecofoyer Guinée programme distributes improved and advanced cookstoves to households that currently rely on traditional wood and charcoal for cooking. These stoves significantly reduce the amount of biomass required, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, reducing pressure on forests, and improving household air quality. The programme is implemented in partnership with local organisations responsible for stove distribution, community engagement, and monitoring. Emission reductions are measured and verified under the Gold Standard, ensuring that the climate and development benefits are credible and transparent. The resulting carbon credits support the long-term financing of the programme and enable Ecofoyer to expand access to clean cooking solutions. More information about the programme can be found on the Gold Standard Registry.
PILOT FOCUS AREAS
